My First Training Day!

Today was my first official day with MDM Talent. Sunday, after sending in my headshots and resume, MDM Talent Agency of Washington D.C. called me in for an interview and audition. I performed a solid monologue and did a great interview and guess what? They really liked me! They called me back and asked me to be a part of their talent team. MDM is an up and coming talent agency with branches in New York and D.C. Just recently, they have begun setting up a branch in D.C. They are very selective and exclusive and I was so honored to be chosen by them to help me follow my dream of becoming an actress.

So today, I met with Michael McDavitt, a wonderful gentleman who started MDM, partnering with his mother, Diane McFarland (a former model, might I add). Quite the family! Anyway, I began with Michael today as my coach and we worked on slating. Slating is when an actor or actress (such as myself) introduces themself in front of a camera or agent. They say their name, age, where they live, and what agency they are apart of. Sounds easy, right? It was actually fairly extensive. You have to envelop the essence of who you are in that short segment with your body language and voice, infusing your actions with your personality. Michael and I were bouncing all over the place, getting loose and energized, having a great time. And directly after, I would launch into my slating. It was very fun and relaxing. Refreshing! Anyway, besides that, I was introduced to what we would be working on and I have to tell you, I am really excited :)
